Find Inexpensive PS3 Games and Accessories Available

Who doesn't love games?!? I don't think I can name one person that is my age who doesn't enjoy playing video games online or offline, it's just a fact of life! Between the DS lites and the Xbox 360s there's no denying that gaming is a large part of a lot of people's lives. According to market researcher David Cole, who runs the firm DFC Intelligence, his best estimate is that 40 percent of U.S. households own a working video-game console. Michael Pachter, an analyst for Wedbush Morgan Securities, estimates that 52 percent of households own consoles. Neither Cole nor Pachter is counting handheld devices, such as Nintendo's Game Boy or Sony's PlayStation Portable (PSP). Whether it's 40% or 52% those are still pretty large percentages regarding ownership of gaming consoles!

The only downside to teasing us with all these new gaming capabilities is the price. Wii, for example, has been out for a while now and it still costs a few hundred bucks to buy one of these things. I even tried eBay, one of my all time favorite stores and the price can go up to $4,000 when bidding! That, to me, is just ridiculous. I would never pay that much for a system, ever! Sony Playstation 3 comes in at around $400 on a site like Best Buy, and Xbox 360 comes in at around $260 for a regular Xbox 360 and at around $400 for an Elite. The games aren't much better heading in at around $40-$100 per game depending on its popularity and if it's a special "limited" game.

So, what exactly are people supposed to do? Just not buy these consoles or games? No! Here's what I do, I visit sites that have cheap or discount games and consoles. This allows you to buy the same exact quality assurance product at a store such as Best Buy but not pay an arm and a leg for the product. For example, a PS3 at a discount store will cost somewhere around $284 compared to other predecessors such as Best Buy for $400. That is sick! In this case, you could buy a discount PS3 for you and a friend and just top the price of one PS3 at Best Buy. The same goes for the top PS3 games. For example, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3) cost about $40 at Best Buy, and at discount stores about $20! That's a $20 savings difference! Alright, let's try for top PS3 accessories. The Logitech Driving Force Pro Wheel (PS3) From Logitech (yes the discount sites sell everything the regular stores do) which cost about $150 in retail stores and $75 in discount store. That's pretty incredible.

So, really, which choice is the best choice? Really, I would go for the discount store. You can have all the same high quality products the regular stores sell, for a fraction of the price, and who doesn't love saving money?!? Try it out for yourself so you can see exactly what I mean. Have fun and if you get stuck on any of the games you can always look for PS3 cheats online, there are plenty around!

Star Wars The Force Unleashed - Xbox 360 Review

Star Wars has probably become one of the most successful Sci-Fi franchises ever. And as far as video game franchises go, LucasArts seems to be heading in the right direction. With their latest release Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, we finally get to taste what it's like living on the other side of existence - as the Sith Apprentice of Darth Vader himself, no less.

The beginning segments of the game aren't that great and you'll probably be wondering why you're starting out as Darth Vader when this is a game focused on his apprentice. Well, the apprentice has to come from somewhere and that's why you play as Darth.

As you progress in the game you will immediately begin to enjoy using your Sith powers. The further on you progress in the missions, the more powerful your powers become. You will eventually be able to upgrade everything including force powers, abilities and even your light sabre.

On a visual level the game looks extremely good - detail is exceptional and the various environments you encounter (everything from the junkyard home world of 'Raxus Prime' to the lush and exotic foliage of 'Felucia') are all brilliantly presented. The only thing that really didn't appeal to me was the movement of various characters in cut-scenes. It didn't at all look natural.

The game mechanics however are a different story. Movement in the game is fluid and fast-paced (very much like Prince of Persia or Assassins' Creed) and you'll find yourself hopping and jumping all over the place with ease. Coupled with an extremely well structured control system, anyone could easily master the 'Power of the Dark Side'. Basic movements such as jump (A button), Force Push (B button), Force Lightning (Y button), Attack (X button) and Force Grip (Right trigger) will have you controlling the game after about half an hour.

There's a difficulty level for everyone although I find that action games seem a lot more enjoyable when the challenges are set slightly higher than your own skill level would dictate. The storyline in Star Wars The Force Unleashed is interesting and engaging. The character dialogue is also top-notch with The Apprentice voiced by Battlestar Galactica's Sam Witwer, Juno Eclipse is voiced by Nathalie Cox, Culley Fredricksen is General Kota and Maris Brood voiced by Adrienne Wilkinson.

If you've enjoyed the puzzle-like challenges in games like God of War and the expansive fighting combinations of Soul Calibur, you'll probably find Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is exactly your type of game. With a storyline that's one of the best I've seen in a Star Wars game, you'll be hard pressed to find another game that packs in so much content and variety.

Tweaked Cell Processor For Sony PlayStation 4

I was reading an article on cnet and I have to agree completely with what David Carnoy mentioned about the present and future of the Sony PlayStation. The current PlayStation 3 has just started to take off with the lowered production cost (chip shrunk from 90nm down to 45nm) and with slightly more games worth purchasing. Sony should get back or at least break even from the investment and money lost from selling each console under cost when it first came out. That won't be possible however, if Sony started researching on a completely new processor chip from the ground up as it would need to inject a huge chunk of money for research and development all over again, well before Sony could profit from the current console. Therefore it makes much sense for Sony to stick to the current chip design and modify it.

As a PlayStation 3 (60GB with Spiderman 3 Blu-ray DVD) owner since November 2007, I would prefer to hold on to this console for at least a few more years as oppose to buying a new console every 2 years because I'm just not ready to make another expensive purchase, just like most of us normal consumers who would like to make purchases at the cheapest possible price unlike the hardcore gaming fans who will rush to get new consoles/games on their very first release days. I too agree Sony should improve the current console, not just on the technical side but the look and feel of the console as well. The PlayStation 3 console is huge, though its surprisingly quiet. It would be great if its size could be reduced to the same side as the slim PlayStation 2. I think the slim version of the PS2 is one of the sleekest console of all time, if not THE sleekest. And I assume by the time it can be shrunk to that size, the price will drop as well?

Sony should ignore and forget about Microsoft from releasing an XBox 720 or XBox1080 (I personally like the name XBox1080 as it would match with the current Full HD format). Why? What happened to the earlier versions of the XBox360? Remember the infamous Red Ring of Death? How many times did someone you know had to send back the console for a repair or a new one? Don't get me wrong, I am not a PS3 fanboy and certainly not here to bash XBox360, at least not in this article and I don't see a point in bashing it anyway as I heard from people the newer versions are much more stable than the older ones. I just want to point out that history would repeat itself if Microsoft rushed into releasing a new console. And even if a new XBox is released with better graphic capabilities, its not all about the graphics. First if a game has great graphics but no actual playing value, the game would still not be worth purchasing, well most of the time. Take the Nintendo Wii for example, it doesn't have the graphics compare to the XBox360 and PlayStation 3 but its the best selling console these days. The reason is because it is innovative and it suits a broader range of audience from non gamers, casual gamers and to the hardcore gamers. To me its basically a tweaked GameCube!

But then again, imagine what the PlayStation 4 can do with a completely new chip.

What do you think?

Racing Games - Speed Past the Milestones

Indisputably, the luxuries of the urban civilisation are on a constant rising scale and there is an abrupt boost in the standard of living, but we cannot ignore the fact that this has been achieved at the cost of sheer rigorous labour and the mounting stress. People toil day in and day out to meet the rising demands of urban lifestyle. At the end of the day, the only thing they need is a bit of relaxation and rejuvenation. Perhaps this is the reason games are valued over everything else as nothing can replace truly exciting games when it comes to regenerating the drained vigour.

The gaming industry is on an all time high these days. It has found a wonderful medium for its propagation, Internet. The Web has an exhaustive number of games that can keep the player hooked for hours together leaving him at the peak of gratification at the end. The online games have a comprehensive collection of games of all genre tailor-made for the gamers of all age group and interests.

Ranging from the action-packed arcade games to the mind-boggling puzzles, the gamers get the fun they look for. There are heaps of games from the categories like action, arcade, puzzles, racing etc. that give the much needed getaway from the usual monotony of the daily schedule.

Among these, the racing games are the most sought-after games as they cater to the entertainment needs of all kinds of gamers, no matter to what age group they belong to. The racing games look quite tempting primarily because they include various stylish, 'high-profile' wagons which in reality are far from the reach of many of us. The players savour the delight of a drive in these cars and bikes through the games. Road Rash is perhaps the most popular and one of the earliest racing games that can be found on the PC of almost every game enthusiast. It is set on a very resplendent backdrop of plush green vegetation and mountainous trails through which fifteen bikers including you(or the player representing you) race for almost 3 minutes continuously. The game includes a number of hurdles and challenges like bumpers, policemen etc. that make it even more interesting.

Some other driving games are Midtown Madness, Australian DirtTrack, Street Racer, Motocross, Bike Mania etc. These games allow the user to pick from an assortment of scores of bikes and cars. The gamer chooses the one close to his fantasies and rides on it to win the race. These games have extensive graphical patterns and realistic backgrounds that add to the level of enthusiasm. Play driving games and realise your dreams of breaking the speed limits and streaking past the milestones. Because in the driving games neither is there a limit on the speed nor on fun. So get, set, going!

Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii is the latest addition of the Mario Kart series. Designed with the Wii in mind you could say it was designed for the Wii, So what do you get with Mario Kart Wii, well you get a Wii Wheel thrown in the package, giving you a more realistic driving experience. It is, however, compatible with other controllers as well. Mario Kart Wii still has its classic Mario Kart characters as well as additional characters.

Mario Kart Wii requires you to have 23 blocks on the player's Wii system so you can save game data. The game data can't be copied so don't bother waste your time trying. This feature prevents players from transfering game data from one wii to another. The Mario Kart Channel uses 78 blocks, but unlike the game data, players can actually copy the channel onto their SD cards.

The great thing about Mario Kart Wii is that up to 12 players can race against each other to the finish in multi-lap race around a given circuit, you can employ all sorts of tricks, shortcuts, horseplay to earn yourself first place. You can also select twelve types of vehicles, six karts, and six bikes, to compete in each of the three classes available. Your selected Vehicles will vary depending on your characters weight, as will your colour scheme, depending on which character is shown.

Tournaments
If you fancy your chances against other opponents online there is a list of tournaments available, there is a new mode in Mario Kart Wii called "Tournament Mode", the PAL version of this is called the "Competition Mode".

You can play the Tournaments on the Mario Kart Channel, but make sure the Mario Kart Wii disc is in the Wii. You will of course need an internet connection, and Wii Connect 24 to be turned on before they can be played. After a while, a tournament is archived to make room for a new one. However, you can still view the rankings of older tournaments on the ranking table.

Types of Tournaments available

  • VS. Race - A standard VS. race; however you will find the race courses are somewhat altered.
  • Time Trial - A standard Time Trial; race courses are somewhat altered.
  • Numbered Gates - You must drive through the gates in order, as fast as you possible can.
  • Coin Collecting - Here you must collect the coins on the stage as fast as you can.
  • Boss Battle - You must fight against a boss from Super Mario Galaxy or New Super Mario Bro.- These Tournaments are played on special stages.

There is a new feature called "Tricks" or "Stunts" and it is now a part of gameplay. When a player performs a trick, the player is able to gain a momentary boost of speed, which allows characters to do a few different things, such as grabbing an Item Box out of midair. One example of trick is pulling off acrobatics in air, which can be performed by shaking the Wii Wheel upward, but try not to shake your arms off, while doing this, ha ha ha!

Guess what, Mario Kart Wii also features a text chat in online multi-player Mode. You can send pre-written phrases to other players before the series of races starts. Unfortunately you cannot type your own message, because this facility is not available, however you can text when racing or battling against your friends or other competitors.

Robert Lawrence has written articles and game reviews on Nintendo wii games, you can get even more information on Mario Kart Wii as well as reviews of the games available for the Nintendo Wii.

PS3 Vs Xbox 360 - Which Console To Use For Playing NCAA 09 Football

For all you gridiron fans out there, life just got sweeter thanks to the release of NCAA 09 Football. Other than McFadden on the cover, there are also plenty of new drool-worthy features on this version, available for Playstation, Xbox, Wii, DS and PC. Just imagine this: wider spaces, bigger holes, directional pump, play bluffs, enhanced passing control, open receivers and cutback lanes. You could also manipulate the ambience, with better customization controls and better-looking fields. And yes, enjoy the dynamic crowd in the sidelines with cheerleaders, mascots and more players getting in on the action. When there's so many of these waiting for your shaky hands to handle, where do you play? The PS3 or Xbox 360? We examine the pros and cons:

Play with PS3

Okay, so you probably weren't too happy with NCAA 08 playing on your Playstation. After all, you got into the action at just 30 fps (frames per second). Xbox players had it better - at 60 fps. Sony has heard your cry and answered your prayers. NCAA 09 can now be played on the PS3 at a faster, smoother 60 fps.

And if you want to be part of the Blu-ray DVD wave of the future, this is an excellent console to get. After all, there are other games out there that you want to immerse yourself in. Playing control and manipulation on the NCAA 09 is also much improved, so that's probably something you can perform deftly with the PS3. If you don't mind the occasional less-than-perfect color, images and graphics, go ahead and choose the PS3.

Play with Xbox 360

If it's graphics you're after, go with the Xbox. Per pound of muscle, Xbox 360 easily trumps PS3, even if Sony's release papers say otherwise. Its GPU is simply much more powerful, allowing you to enjoy the stadium views in all its pixilated glory. Vertex processing is also well worth it.

If you're talking high def, Xbox can deliver, something than PS3 can't, since its anti-aliasing technique is a wee bit backward than that of Xbox. Since you'll probably want to take pleasure in scoring that touchdown without feeling like you've been blinking the whole time, get your NCAA 09 Football game on the Xbox. After all, your hands may do all the work but your eyes are the ones doing the navigating. Give them a good treat.

Which one to use to play NCAA 09 Football with?

If price matters to you, get the Xbox 360. For one, the PS3 is more expensive, although you'll need to shell out additional cash to get HD-DVD on your Xbox. But with the faster rate of running NCAA 09 Football, there shouldn't be a lot of complaints on your part if you choose the PS3.

However, for the money and the sheer enjoyment of a great-looking game at its spiffiest, you might want to try the Xbox 360. NCAA 09 Football's latest enhancement suit this gaming system. But again, it still depends on your own inclinations.

Gamerosters.com provides NCAA Football rosters files for PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360. We offer purchase new memory card, memory card mail-in, and roster download service particularly NCAA Football 09 Rosters.
